Only 30 minutes train ride from Amsterdam
The historic city of Utrecht lies in the center of the Netherlands and is about 45km south of Amsterdam. There is an excellent train connection between the two cities. The fastest route is to travel from Amsterdam Central Station to Utrecht Central Station. The train ride takes about 30 minutes. Intercity services run up to every 10 minutes. There is also a regular Intercity rail service (up to 4x hourly) from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to Utrecht Central Station. To schedule your trip, go to 9292.nl or download the app that is simply called 9292. The app allows you not only to plan your trip but also to check on the go if there are any changes on your route.
We highly recommend using a TripKey pass for travelling in the Netherlands. TripKey is a pay-as-you-go public transport card linked to your credit card and valid nationwide on all public transport. You can even use it to rent an OV-fiets (public transport bike) and travel door-to-door.
