The historic city of Utrecht lies in the center of the Netherlands and is about 45km south of Amsterdam. There is an excellent train connection between the two cities. The fastest route is to travel from Amsterdam Central Station to Utrecht Central Station. The train ride takes about 30 minutes. Intercity services run up to every 10 minutes. There is also a regular Intercity rail service (up to 4x hourly) from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to Utrecht Central Station.
